For identifiers, the first character must be a letter (A-Z a-z) and not a digit or special character. WebField names with spaces must be marked off by a distinctive character used for that purpose. In Oracle, you have to enclose such identifiers with double quotes as in: SELECT "FIRST NAME", "LAST NAME" FROM EMPLOYEE Other DBMS's use different characters to set off these field names.
